Innovate Consulting is seeking Quality Coordinator to join an engineering firm in Houston, TX! The Quality Coordinator coordinates, monitors, guides, executes inspections, and performs day-to-day functions to apply the Quality Management Systems (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) to support the project, production, integration, and fabrication of industrial panels and module buildings. Acts as a liaison with client and management on all matters related to quality assurance and control for assigned projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with the Engineering Manager to determine quality control / assurance resources required for the project.
- Reviews RFQ’s (Request for Quotations), PO’s (Purchase Orders), Contracts, and Contractor Quality submittals for compliance with client and project quality requirements listed in the contract.
- Prepares, issues and revises all deliverables related to quality activities (Quality Audit Plan, Third Party Inspection, etc.) in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.
- Advises individual project disciplines of Quality Assurance and Control requirements that should be incorporated into their documentation, deliverables, and production.
- Prepares, issues and revises the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with the Engineering Manager. The plan will reference the procedures to be used and where applicable project specific procedures to be developed.
- Assists the Project Manager as required in the development of Project Instructions.
- Plans and performs information sessions at the commencement of and during the course of the project with the aim of explaining the Quality Management System and how it will be applied to the project and production.
- Acts as a liaison with client and project managers on all matters related to quality assurance for assigned projects.
- Advises Production Manager on measurement of project quality performance.
- Provides early identification of failures and nonconformance to minimize rework, cost and schedule impacts.
- Assures nonconformance is reported and resolved through approved dispositions and follow-up actions to confirm acceptable results.
- Identifies ways to which the efficiency of the Project and Production can be improved and reports such to relevant Engineering Management and Project Management for action.
- Oversees quality assurance resources to ensure project requirements are sufficiently met.
- Plans, coordinates, and leads audits/ assessments, visits to suppliers and sub-contractors as agreed with the Engineering Manager.
- Plans, coordinates and executes all audits/ surveillances / inspections designed to meet the objectives of the Project Quality Plan(s) and/or Manual(s).
- Oversees the activities of Subcontractors, Vendors, and Sub-vendors to ensure compliance with Project Quality requirements.
- Oversee Quality Inspections of Production Team and any contractors
- These duties include signing off of ITPs and check sheets with respect to completion of work
- Reviewing as built documentation and ensuring it is being completed
- Oversite of all NDE
- Completing Visual inspections and Supporting Function Tests
- Tracking NCRs, RMA, and repairs
- Punch listing close out verifications
- Review of Equipment and Materials when Receive to Ensure Compliance

- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- 10+ years of experience in construction required
- ISO Auditor Certification preferred.
- Progressive quality assurance experience in an Engineering or Oil and Gas project environment.
- Experience with third party inspection and project quality control / assurance. Quality Audit experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group-presentation situations. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
- Ability to persuade individuals with differing opinions or interest to change criteria or methods, accept findings or reach agreement on a variety of technical or commercial points.
- Ability to independently prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and/or Access, PowerPoint with ability to download, manipulate and report data.
- Ability to pay close attention to details.
- Understanding of quality systems used in Engineering Companies.
