Summary As a member, the Safety Technician leads the development, implementation, and oversight of specific safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all employees, contractors and subcontractors. By collaborating closely with Facility Leadership and Corporate Safety Leadership. The Safety Technician monitors compliance, investigates incidents, and provides guidance on risk mitigation to protect people, property, and project outcomes— , continued success as it relates to the support needed to drive execution in our Market Unit and Supply Chain areas. Responsibilities
- Serve as a location resource to front line organization regarding Safety Policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety standards and procedures to achieve a zero-incident workplace.
- Perform Safety Audits within all Market Unit locations and report results to MU leadership team & Safety Department.
- Partner with local management to identify and implement corrective actions during safety audits, self-inspections, investigations, etc.
- Attend, facilitate and support Safety Committees within each designated MU location.
- Assist in defining, obtaining, coordinating and maintaining necessary safety reports, permits, communications and safety self assessments for each designated MU location.
- Provide coverage as necessary and according to business demand to include working overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts (days and times).
- Involve line organization personnel to address day-to-day health and safety concerns.
- Assist the safety SPOC’s and Safety Champions with their Safety programs. Project Safety Technician 2
- Prepare Safety toolbox topics as needed.
- Complete hazard assessments
- Assist Safety Specialist and/or Safety Department with various projects up to and including other duties as assigned.
- Safety Technicians will notify Safety or Facility Leadership of any associates that are a safety concern.
Qualifications:
- Personally exhibit and mentor others to foster a culture of safety Five Culture Principles: People Focused, Transparency, Change & Innovation, Focus on Results, Customer Centric and People Focused
- High School Diploma, Completion of G.E.D., or Equivalent
- College degree OR 2+ years of construction or general industry experience
- OSHA 10 and/or 30-Hour certification required
