Job Summary:
Innovate consulting is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Engineering Manager who will design and implement Utility grade, industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical power systems.
Top Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience managing Electrical Engineers (experience managing drafters, designers, or assemblers alone does not qualify).
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a project execution environment (manufacturing, EPC, or custom-engineered projects), not R&D or product development.
- Experience managing engineering efforts for large, engineered electrical projects, such as E-Houses, Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), substations, modular electrical buildings, or MEP systems.
- Candidates with experience on smaller control enclosure or panel projects may be considered if they demonstrate the ability to scale to larger, more complex projects.
- Previous leadership experience managing 5+ engineers is preferred; this role will oversee a team of approximately 10 engineers.
- Strong understanding of project execution, engineering deliverables, cross-functional coordination, and schedule-driven environments.
Job Duties:
- Leads the engineering and project management efforts on assigned projects and is responsible for coordinating the individual Engineering Disciplines such that the most cost-effective total project solution for executing engineering work is achieved
- Ensures that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule, meets quality standards including review meetings and checking procedures, performance is within the baseline man-hour and material budgets, required deliverables are produced and change management is executed in a timely manner
- Reviews the status of the schedule and progress performance with the Clients on a regular basis, and keep the General Managers apprised of issues
- Ensures the quality of the engineering execution and deliverables
- Participates in people development through mentoring, development of training material, and conducting or training seminars
- Develops and builds client relations
- Develop electrical documents for the scope of work definition, specification, data sheets, equipment selection, drawing review, schematic development, wiring diagrams, physical layout drawings, and project close-out procedures for low to medium-voltage industrial power distribution systems
- Prepared purchase requisitions for various electrical equipment
- Leads inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for various relay panels, Power Distribution Centers, and remote instrumentation enclosure Buildings
- Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations, and industry practices
- Review estimates to confirm the technical offerings of the product
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering required
- Ten or more years of experience in electrical design and engineering required
- Five or more years of experience in managing project Engineers and junior engineers required or more years of product knowledge of key electrical components of a Protection & Control Panel (SEL, Electroswitch, test switches, etc.) required
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
- Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges required

- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
