We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer who’s detail-oriented and passionate about precision design. In this role, you’ll create and review 3D models and bills of materials (BOMs) for complex power distribution equipment, including switchgear and panelboards. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to bring mechanical designs from concept to completion.

What You’ll Do

• Review electrical diagrams and translate them into mechanical design packages
• Develop elevations, section views, and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Support electrical engineering by providing mechanical components and drawings
• Release BOMs for purchasing and fabrication
• Assist mechanical engineering with additional drafting and modeling
• Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve project questions and issues
• Communicate project status and potential issues with supervisors

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in sheet metal design (switchgear or UL891 switchboard experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
• Ability to create 3D renderings and side views from single-line and elevation drawings
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC, and UL standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
