Overview

Innovate Consulting is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support a critical infrastructure environment in San Francisco. This role will focus on next-generation firewall (NGFW) technologies and data center network migration initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Palo Alto platforms and 7000 series deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) in a high-availability environment
• Support and maintain Palo Alto Networks 7000 series firewalls
• Lead and assist with migration projects to 7000 series platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and risk
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure network architectures
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize firewall configurations
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer as needed

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW solutions
• Strong expertise with Palo Alto 7000 series firewalls
• Proven experience in firewall migration projects, particularly to 7000 series
• Solid understanding of network security principles, protocols, and architectures
• Experience working in mission-critical or large-scale environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting airport or transportation infrastructure environments
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE or equivalent)
• Experience with high-availability and failover configurations
