Senior Field Service Engineer

Charging sites only create value when they power up, stay online, and earn the customer’s trust. You will own that outcome in the field—diagnosing complex electrical and EVSE issues, restoring service, and leaving sites safer and more reliable than you found them. This role sits where engineering meets real equipment, real schedules, and real operators.

Performance Objectives

  • Restore failed or underperforming EV charging and electrical systems to specification on the first visit whenever the fault and parts allow.
  • Lead commissioning and acceptance of new or upgraded sites so they pass inspection, meet performance targets, and hand over cleanly to operations.
  • Cut repeat failures by finding root cause—not symptoms—and feeding clear fixes back to engineering, supply, and the customer.
  • Complete service reports, test data, and as-found/as-left records the same day so billing, warranty, and design decisions rest on facts.
  • Coach technicians and contractors on safe work methods, cable termination quality, and test discipline so the wider team’s first-time fix rate rises.
  • Protect uptime during outages by setting priorities, coordinating parts and access, and keeping the customer informed until the site is stable.

Environment & Resources

You will work from customer sites and a regional base, reporting to field service leadership and partnering with project, applications, and supply teams. You will have calibrated test and measurement tools, service vehicles or travel support, approved parts channels, and engineering backup for escalations. Work is hands-on around medium- and low-voltage equipment, EVSE, terminations, and related electrical assemblies. Expect travel, outdoor sites, and after-hours response when uptime is at risk.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven record commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical distribution or EV charging equipment in the field.
  • Working command of test instruments, protective practices, and quality cable termination—not just familiarity with the terms.
  • Ability to read one-lines, schematics, and site drawings and turn them into a safe work plan.
  • Clear written and verbal updates that non-technical customers and internal engineers can both act on.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel; relevant electrical or EVSE credentials, or a clear path to them.
  • Judgment to stop work when conditions are unsafe and to escalate before a workaround creates a bigger failure.

Role Selling Points

  • Work on live clean-energy infrastructure, not a narrow product silo—EV charging, electrical supply, and engineered assemblies in one practice.
  • Your field evidence changes how equipment is specified, built, and supported.
  • Growing organization with room to lead complex sites and mentor newer technicians.
  • Problems are concrete: power, uptime, safety, and customer confidence.

Call to Action

If you measure success by sites that stay online and customers who call you back, apply with examples of systems you commissioned, failures you permanently fixed, and the standards you hold in the field.
