Apply for this job

We are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate cross-functional launches, multi-stream initiatives, and business-driven projects that span I&T and business operations. This role operates from a shared pool and is assigned to initiatives that require coordination beyond a single value stream, including product launches, state expansions, regulatory implementations, and large-scale integrations. The Project Manager is not embedded in a single stream; instead, they are deployed to the highest-priority cross-functional work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead coordination across I&T value streams, Product, Sales, Compliance, Operations, and other business functions for launches and strategic initiatives.

Launch Planning: Build launch plans with milestones, dependencies, go-live criteria, and business readiness activities. Drive alignment across all workstreams to the launch date.

Stakeholder Management: Serve as the single point of coordination for all stakeholders involved in the initiative. Manage communications, status reporting, and escalations.

Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues. Escalate blockers that cannot be resolved at the project level.

Compliance Coordination: For compliance-driven projects, coordinate with legal and compliance teams to meet regulatory deadlines. Track filing dates, effective dates, and approval milestones.

Timeline Management: Manage project timelines, track progress against milestones, and adjust plans as needed. Keep business stakeholders informed on delivery status.

Project Cost Tracking: Track delivery effort and costs against project estimates, maintain forecasts, and surface variances with clear options and impacts. Future state may include tracking against allocated project budget pools as those mechanics are defined.

Retrospectives: Run cross-functional launch retrospectives after go-live. Document lessons learned and action items for future initiatives.

Process Adherence: Confirm I&T workstreams within the project follow the 9-stage delivery flow. Maintain the stage gate plan for each initiative, validate entry and exit criteria, facilitate gate reviews, document decisions, and escalate when a gate is at risk. Coordinate with Delivery Leads on sprint alignment and release planning.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.

Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects that span technology and business operations.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all organizational levels.

Experience with insurance product launches, regulatory implementations, or state expansions is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in project management tools (Azure DevOps, Planview, Smartsheet, or similar).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.

Understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and how project management integrates with Agile execution.

PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification preferred.

ROLE LEVELS:

This role is hired at two levels based on experience and scope:

Sr Project Manager: Owns coordination and governance for the most complex, high-impact initiatives, including multi-value-stream launches, compliance-driven work, and large integrations. Sets the standard for stage gates, readiness, and escalations, and mentors other Project Managers.

Minimum 6+ years in project management, program management, or launch coordination roles.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder delivery across regulatory and technical domains.

Drives formal readiness reviews and go/no-go recommendations with clear rationale, risks, and dependencies.

Leads dependency resolution across teams and escalates tradeoffs with clear options and impacts.

Coaches Project Managers on planning discipline, stage gate execution, and stakeholder communication.

Project Manager: Owns integrated planning, coordination, and stage gate execution for assigned initiatives, under guidance for larger or higher risk programs.

Minimum 3+ years in project management, program coordination, or launch coordination roles.

Strong coordination, organization, and follow-through across multiple workstreams.

Runs status reporting, risk and issue tracking, and escalations for assigned initiatives.
