Position Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer with expertise in electrical systems design for residential (multi-family) and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in designing efficient, code-compliant power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who excels in project management, client interaction, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design: Develop designs for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and low-voltage systems (e.g., fire alarms, communications).
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, such as NEC, IES, and local regulations.
- Load Analysis: Perform electrical load calculations and design power distribution systems to meet project requirements.
- Lighting Design: Create energy-efficient lighting layouts, including controls, and ensure compliance with energy codes such as IECC or LEED.
- Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into the overall project design.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and schedules using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Client Interaction: Communicate directly with clients to understand project goals, provide technical expertise, and ensure satisfaction with electrical design solutions.
- Project Management: Oversee electrical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design for residential (multi-family) and commercial projects.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs on schedule and within budget.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation.
- Experience with electrical load calculation and analysis tools.
- Familiarity with energy compliance modeling and lighting software.
- Cross discipline familiarity with the other two MEP engineering fields
