Professional Services Consultant (Cybersecurity / SOAR):

The Professional Services Consultant is an integral part of our mission within the Professional Services team. In this role, you will provide remote deployment and configuration expertise around next-generation security solutions. You will function as a Subject Matter Expert and work directly with customers’ personnel and project teams to provide leadership, technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives aligned with best-practice methodologies.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you’ll build, tune, and optimize security environments. You do not shy away from difficult challenges in cybersecurity, implementations, and integrations. You are the technical authority and will work directly with customers to help them secure their digital environments — while also training their staff to be self-sufficient.

While experience with specific vendor platforms is highly valued (including Palo Alto’s XSOAR and NGFW), what’s most important is a strong foundation in networking, security, and SOAR platforms. Many opportunities involve clients migrating from legacy technologies, so broad exposure across vendors will make you especially effective in this role.

Your Impact

  • Migrate customers from legacy security solutions to modern SOAR and NGFW platforms
  • Build and optimize playbooks, custom security policies, and application signatures tailored to client needs
  • Lead or assist with SIEM integrations, incident response workflows, and automation scripting (Python or similar)
  • Provide after-hours or weekend on-call support for maintenance activities as needed
  • Analyze logs and events from security platforms for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with the Technical Assistance Center and internal engineering teams to resolve complex issues
  • Mentor client teams on upgrades, configuration best practices, and proactive security operations

Must Have

  • Strong Python (or similar scripting) with proven automation / playbook development
  • Hands-on experience with a SOAR platform (XSOAR preferred) and SIEM integrations
  • Background in Linux/Unix administration with comfort in CLI troubleshooting
  • Solid experience in cybersecurity, incident response, and playbook creation
  • Engineer (4+ years) in professional services, consulting, or similar function with BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN protocols, TCP/IP, dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF), firewalls, VPNs, and authentication protocols (LDAP, RADIUS, SAML)
  • Exposure to multiple security vendors (Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper, Zscaler, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and packet analysis skills using tools like tcpdump & Wireshark
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both senior leaders and technical peers
  • Industry certifications (PCNSE, CCNP/CCIE, etc.) strongly preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Prisma Access or similar cloud-based security services
  • Application delivery and performance monitoring expertise
  • SD-WAN and remote access technology deployment
  • Global-scale network design and virtualization (VMware/Microsoft/Citrix/Linux KVM)

Location

EST Preferred, but open to qualified remote candidates across the U.S.
