Vice President of Services:
We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial VP of Services to build a service organization from the ground up for a fast-growing switchgear and electrical services company. This leader will create, launch, and scale a best-in-class services division that supports both planned maintenance and rapid-response emergency service for mission-critical electrical systems.
This is not a “manage a legacy team” role — it’s a build, grow, and scale opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment and is motivated by seeing their impact directly in the field.
What You Will Build & Lead
You will own and develop two core service functions:
1. Planned Services
- Preventative maintenance, testing, and scheduled field services
- Build scheduling, dispatch, and capacity planning systems
- Develop service packages, processes, and workflows from scratch
2. Emergency / Rapid Response Services
- 24/7 emergency support for failures, outages, and urgent customer needs
- Create a dispatch model that can get technicians onsite within hours
- Build a call system and escalation structure for high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
Key Responsibilities
- Build the service division from zero to scale — people, systems, equipment, and processes
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain skilled Field Technicians (both junior and senior)
- Stand up a 24/7 dispatch and call support system for emergency response
- Procure and manage service trucks, tools, and testing equipment
- Establish SOPs for safety, service delivery, job costing, and customer communication
- Launch the Houston operation first, then expand to additional regions
- Oversee scheduling, resource management, work order systems, and service capacity
- Maintain a strong customer-centric focus with reliability, speed, and quality at the core
- Build a culture that can thrive in a rougher, real-world field environment (industrial, utilities, plants, etc.)
Who Will Succeed in This Role
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has energy, grit, urgency, and leadership drive
- Has built or scaled a services organization before — ideally in electrical, mechanical, or industrial field services
- Can operate at both strategic levels and in the weeds when needed
- Is comfortable in a high-pressure environment where customers need solutions now
- Can instill process and systems in an industry that demands speed and reliability
- Understands how to hire, manage, and motivate field technicians
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience leading a service, maintenance, or field operations organization (electrical preferred)
- Strong operational and business management ability (systems, scheduling, P&L, staffing)
- Proven ability to build a service function from scratch or scale one rapidly
- Leadership experience in a high-pressure field services environment
Nice-to-Have (Not Required):
- Electrical or switchgear service experience
- Background managing trucks, tools, and testing equipment procurement
- Experience building 24/7 service and dispatch operations
Career Opportunity & Growth
- Build a service division your way from the ground up
- Houston will be the flagship — then expand to multiple major markets
- Equity upside for building a scalable, profitable division
- High-visibility executive role with long-term growth potential
