Innovate Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Manager with an Electrical Manufacturing background to join one of our Houston-based engineering, electrical manufacturing, and industrial automation clients. This position is direct hire and will be located onsite in Houston.


Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in electrical manufacturing to lead complex projects from kickoff through completion. This role is focused purely on project management and requires someone who understands the electrical power industry, manufacturing operations, and customer-driven project execution.

The ideal candidate will come have experience managing large-scale electrical projects involving switchgear, power distribution equipment, or engineered electrical systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple electrical manufacturing projects simultaneously from order handoff through final delivery
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal engineering teams, production, and operations
  • Drive project schedules, milestones, budgets, and overall execution
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, production, procurement, quality, and field services
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and customers
  • Support change order management, forecasting, and project financial performance
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer requirements

Required Background

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within the electrical manufacturing or power systems industry
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment manufacturing processes and project lifecycles
  • Experience working with products such as switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution equipment, or similar systems
  • Background with companies such as Powell, Eaton, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, or similar highly preferred
  • Ability to manage customer-facing projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large commercial, industrial, utility, or data center projects
  • PMP certification preferred but not required
  • ERP/project tracking software experience preferred
